The possession or sale of a switchblade is illegal in Michigan. A switchblade is a knife that looks like a pocket knife but which has a blade that can be opened by a mechanical device such as with the flick of a button. It is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail, a $300 fine, or both.
